Apparently these babies make your bike sound like the beast it’s supposed to be! :)
I’ve read alot about people debaffling their pipes. They use different techniques, one of them is to drill 8 holes in each baffle resulting in a deeper and louder sound. Some are very happy with the sound they get from this and some are not happy with it and there’s no way back once you’ve started drilling the crap out of your pipes so you better have a backup plan!
An alternative is to replace your stock pipes with a different brand. One of those are the Vance & Hines staggered slash-cuts. There are many different types of pipes out there that will fit the VN900 just perfectly, but I love the slash-cut look of the stock pipes so I’d like to keep the original look but wouldn’t mind getting a deeper, more fuller, sound out of my pipes.
If you live in the US you’ll probably find these alot cheaper on the aftermarket at eBay. If you live elsewhere or like to buy your stuff brand new the RRP is at US$390, but I’ve seen them online for US$390 and I’m sure you can find them at lower prices if you take a look around.
I’ve done some research and found some YouTube videos for you to see and listen to. Check ‘em out:

I hit Google today and stumbled upon Frank’s Motorcycle Pages. Frank is from California and has written quite a few trip reports from rides around California, Nevada, Oregon and other places west in the United States. He rides a yellow 2003 Kawasaki ZR-7S and likes taking photos on his trips – and they’re quite good!
He has written a little bit about his life philosophy on this page, here’s an extract:
“There would be many hours of riding in the saddle, focusing on the road, being buffeted by the wind, smelling the trees and the highways, feeling the heat of the day and the cold at night, sometimes listening to the rain hit the visor of my helmet. It was a completely different feeling from my normal life. Instead of just sitting and looking at the world around me, I am part of the world; I am part of the environment”

His site is well worth a visit. I’ve added it to my blogroll in the menu on the right. Click this link to visit his site: http://www.xsrider.com

Kawasaki Motorcycle Forum also sends out birthday greetings on email :)

I got a can of Ledrie leathergrease with my purchase of original Kawasaki saddle bags. I didn’t use the grease the first season and didn’t think much about it until I had to clean the bags and wanted that fresh new look back. I’ve used it many times since then, actually I used it a couple of days ago when I was cleaning and waxing my bike. I just have to say – IT’S REALLY GOOD!
The bags look super clean and get a darker, and more vibrant, colour after using the leathergrease on them. While you’re at it, use the grease on the stock seat as well, it looks great!
I did a search on Ledrie, and it turns out it’s a Dutch company with dealers all of the world. To find your dealer, go to this website:
